Solarium Energy has commissioned a new 1 GW solar photovoltaic module manufacturing plant in India. The facility is now operational and has started producing high-efficiency monocrystalline modules.
The plant uses modern automated lines and is designed to make solar modules that meet both domestic and international quality standards. It will supply modules for utility-scale projects, rooftop installations, and off-grid systems across the country.
Company officials said the new capacity will help meet the strong demand for solar modules in India. The plant also supports the government’s goal of increasing domestic manufacturing of solar equipment.
Solarium Energy already operates other solar module and cell plants in India. This latest addition takes the company’s total module manufacturing capacity to more than 3 GW per year.
The commissioning is part of a larger plan to expand clean energy production in India. Local manufacturing reduces the need for imported modules and helps lower costs for solar projects.
The plant is expected to create several hundred direct jobs and support more jobs in the supply chain.
