Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yamanashi Prefecture Governor Kotaro Nagasaki in Japan to expand cooperation between the two regions. The agreement focuses on deepening links in industry, tourism, vocational education, and especially green hydrogen and clean energy technologies.
During meaningful discussions in Yamanashi, both leaders agreed to work together on clean energy innovation and technology exchange. Uttar Pradesh is advancing green hydrogen efforts by developing IIT Kanpur as a Centre of Excellence in the field. This aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a sustainable and self-reliant energy future.
CM Adityanath welcomed Governor Nagasaki’s proposal to lead a delegation of around 200 CEOs from Japan to Uttar Pradesh in August. The visit is expected to speed up industrial partnerships, attract more investment, and create new opportunities for collaboration.
Uttar Pradesh offers large-scale opportunities, skilled manpower, fast execution, strong infrastructure, and easy facilitation through Invest UP’s dedicated Japan Desk and the planned Japan Industrial Township in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.
The MoU was signed on a clear, sunny day in Yamanashi, which CM Adityanath described as a positive sign of clarity and confidence in the growing partnership. He expressed thanks to Governor Nagasaki and all involved for their active support in building ties based on shared economic goals and deep civilizational connections between India and Japan.
This latest MoU builds on earlier engagements between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi, including visits and discussions on green hydrogen projects, workforce training, and cultural links. It reflects the state’s push to attract Japanese expertise in advanced technologies while offering a strong platform for investment and joint growth.
