Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has flagged off 200 new electric buses to expand the city’s public transport system.
The event took place at a Delhi Transport Corporation depot in the capital. The buses will start service on regular city routes in the coming days.
The new vehicles are battery-powered and produce zero tailpipe emissions. They replace older diesel buses and form part of a larger plan to add clean transport options across Delhi.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the buses will give people better and greener travel choices. She added that the move supports the city’s efforts to cut air pollution and improve daily commutes for residents.
Each bus has modern features for passenger comfort and safety. The fleet uses fast-charging technology and will operate on high-demand routes.
