Andhra Pradesh government has officially launched India’s first Quantum Valley in Amaravati, positioning the state as a pioneer in quantum technology development and research.
The initiative aims to create a dedicated ecosystem for quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing, and related fields. The Quantum Valley will bring together research institutions, startups, global technology companies, and academic centres to build indigenous quantum capabilities and drive innovation in next-generation computing.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who announced the launch, said the project will attract investments, talent, and partnerships to make Andhra Pradesh a global hub for quantum technologies. The state government has identified land in Amaravati for the core facility and is offering incentives for companies and research groups to set up operations.
The Quantum Valley is expected to support applications in cryptography, drug discovery, materials science, financial modelling, and secure communication. It will also include training programmes to build a skilled workforce in quantum technologies for the future.
This launch marks a significant step in India’s journey towards quantum leadership and aligns with the national mission to develop self-reliant quantum systems.
