PRASA has inaugurated one of India’s largest dedicated facilities for manufacturing modular data center infrastructure in the Mulshi industrial area near Pune, Maharashtra.
The company opened the nearly 40,000 square foot plant on June 5. It focuses exclusively on modular and containerized data center solutions. The facility was developed with an initial investment of more than Rs 20 crore. PRASA plans further investments that will take the total beyond Rs 60 crore.
The plant is expected to create more than 650 direct and indirect jobs. These roles cover engineering, fabrication, project management, quality control, logistics and supply chain operations.
PRASA unveiled three new product lines at the launch. These include ECORACK, a modular rack system, ECOCUBE, a containerized infrastructure platform, and ECOCHILL, an advanced cooling solution designed for high-density environments. The facility will also manufacture containerized data centers, power skids, cooling skids, modular utility systems and prefabricated steel structures for mission-critical use.
The plant follows Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles. This approach shifts much of the construction work from project sites into a controlled factory setting. It improves quality consistency, reduces project timelines and enhances delivery predictability for customers.
The facility currently operates with partial solar power integration. PRASA plans to expand renewable energy use in the coming years as part of its roadmap toward sustainable manufacturing.
Jay Burse, Chief Vision Officer at PRASA, said: “India’s digital transformation will be defined not only by software innovation but also by the strength of the physical infrastructure supporting it. As AI, cloud and enterprise technologies continue to scale, the industry requires faster, smarter and more predictable approaches to infrastructure delivery. This facility reflects our conviction that the future of data center infrastructure will be increasingly driven by advanced manufacturing.”
India’s data center sector is expanding quickly. Growth in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital services and data localization requirements has increased demand for reliable and scalable infrastructure. Modular manufacturing helps operators deploy capacity faster while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
The new plant will serve hyperscale operators, colocation providers, cloud companies, telecom firms and enterprise customers. It supports projects that need rapid deployment without compromising reliability or energy performance.
PRASA was established in 1994. The company specializes in turnkey data center solutions and critical power infrastructure across India. It has delivered projects for government, enterprise and high-performance computing clients. The Pune facility strengthens its manufacturing capabilities to meet rising domestic demand for advanced digital infrastructure.
