Air India and Singapore Airlines have signed a landmark agreement to significantly expand their commercial cooperation, paving the way for enhanced connectivity, codeshare flights, and greater benefits for travellers between India and Singapore as well as onward destinations.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Air India CEO Campbell Wilson and Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong, covers codeshare arrangements, frequent flyer programme reciprocity, lounge access, and joint marketing initiatives.
The partnership will allow passengers on both airlines to seamlessly book and earn miles across a combined network that spans India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
The agreement builds on the existing interline relationship and is expected to provide more flight options, better connectivity, and improved customer experience for millions of travellers. It comes at a time when India-Singapore air traffic is growing rapidly, driven by business, tourism, and family visits.
Air India, under its Vihaan.AI transformation programme, has been actively forging strategic partnerships to expand its global footprint. Singapore Airlines, a leading carrier in Asia, sees the tie-up as a way to strengthen its position in the fast-growing Indian market.
The MoU is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be implemented in phases over the coming months, with initial codeshare flights anticipated soon.
